UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) are developing a digital immigration system. This means replacement of physical documents with an online record of your immigration status. This is known as an eVisa.
All Biometric Residence Permits (BRP) and Cards (BRC) will expire on 31 December 2024. To prove your immigration status after this date you will need to replace your BRP with an eVisa, The expiration of your BRP card does not affect your immigration status.
You should take action to create a UKVI account and access your eVisa before your BRP expires, so you can continue to prove your immigration status easily.
